Across Scotland, we support individuals to build their career management, work-based and employability skills, throughout their career journey, from school, into further learning opportunities and employment

SQA’s functions are set out in the Education (Scotland) Act 1996 as amended by the Scottish Qualifications Act 2002.  The organisation has two main roles: accreditation, and awarding qualifications.

We’re Skills Development Scotland (SDS), Scotland’s national skills body. It’s our job to help create a skilled workforce that’s ready to face the future.   Our apprenticeships family plays a key role in setting people up for success in their careers. Apprenticeships are designed to tackle potential skills gaps, and support new or existing employees to develop. We work closely with Scotland’s industries to make sure apprenticeships meet their needs.   SDS administers the funding for apprenticeships training, on behalf of the Scottish Government.

The Scottish Borders Manufacturers' Corporation, was founded in 1776 and is the oldest organisation of its type in the UK.

Today, the Corporation has evolved and reflects all sectors of the Borders economy, representing both manufacturing and service based businesses, including construction, telecommunications, finance and marketing.
